Who we are

BoardBuddy (myboardbuddy.in) is a Class 10 board exam preparation app for students in India. This policy applies to the website and the BoardBuddy Android app.

Information we collect

Account details: your username, display name, an optional profile picture, and a password (stored only as a secure hash). We do not ask for your phone number or email address to sign up.

Study activity: quiz and test results, answers, time spent, XP, streak, daily goal, bookmarks, chapter progress and achievements.

Payments: plan, amount, order and payment IDs and dates. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay's secure checkout and never reach our servers.

Device and usage: app version, whether you use the app, installed web app or browser, pages opened and error reports, used to keep the app working.

How we use it

To run your account, save your progress across devices, calculate streaks, XP and the leaderboard, give access to the plan you bought, prevent cheating and fraud, and fix problems.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

What other students can see

Your display name, profile picture, XP and rank appear on the leaderboard. From Profile you can make your profile private and hide your achievements and streak.

Secure cloud database and hosting (stores your account and study data, encrypted in transit).

Razorpay (payments).

Google Analytics (anonymous page-view statistics).

Storage and security

All data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access is limited by account-level security rules, so other students cannot read your private data. Some data is also kept on your device so the app works offline.

How long we keep data

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, study history, bookmarks and profile picture are permanently deleted. Payment records may be kept as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.

Delete your account

Open Profile → Delete account in the app, or visit myboardbuddy.in/delete-account. You can also email us from the address below and we will delete it within 7 days.

Children

BoardBuddy is made for Class 10 students, usually aged 14–16. If you are under 18, please use the app with your parent's or guardian's knowledge. A parent can ask us to delete their child's account at any time.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and show a notice in the app for important changes.
